Chronological:
Evening about 18:30 indonesia west time (IWT) the worker of sawit plantation which live in riparian camp, some of there is which executing pray for Moslem and the others rest with their family at the front of camp. In this camp many family live in one camp. This camp is like long house with many small house for worker.
A while the that easy going atmosphere surprised by running and noise of goat from its cage. the Location of sheep fold apart about 10 m from camp at the front of camp, and sheep fold position a few higher than camp. That occurence make all worker want to know and come to the sheep fold to see cause that make the goat fear. Ipen, as gaffer of sawit plantation with some people at the time check around camp area by using plash light cause that moment day start dark. After walking about 50 m from camp, they surprised by finding a goat with condition dying with nape which almost break. Goat condition which have dying that finally decide initiative for them to immediately slaughter the goat and bring it to the camp, but that intention change after finishing to slaughter that goat, they see 2 individual of tiger residing in about 7 m from them stand up. All the man see the tiger upstanding and paying attention to it, Ipen and all the people tremble and run fear go to camp.
At next morning about 07.00 IWT which the day coincidence drizzle, one of The young brother of Ipen, trying check the location where previous at last evening their find goat which they have slaughtered there. And He found the goat still there. About 11:00 IWT when hot day yound brother of Ipen return to check the goat victim, and that goat have nothing like in place occurrence location.
After the case a lot of member of the worker move to office central of sawit plantation because fear and appalling and do not dare to conduct activity. During 3 night that Tiger visit upon their camp, even at third night after occurrence, the tiger pursue a dog until the wall of their camp. That occurence time a lot of people which sit in front of camp witness the occurence and make them fear and go into camp and lock their camp each until morning. From boldness of sawit worker, to date in their activity harvest sawit conducted by a control guard and they do not dare to conduct it until evening.
To anticipate this occurence re-happened the sawit company have conducted some action such as:
- invite the shaman of tiger to dissipate the tiger with magic way (we thing this action to make the worker not fear and work hard again).
- prohibiting to all worker to look after goat around camp because felt concerned about will fish that tiger to come returning.
- The sheep fold destroy.
Occurence Time.
According to information Ipen (gaffer of sawit plantation) the occurence on 9 April 2009 about 18:30 IWT .
Occurence Location.
location the tiger attack goat that happened in the sawit plantation. This plantation about 2 km from border of BTNP, and the camp just about 500 m from the buffer. That Sheep fold reside in precisely in front of Camp and apart about 10 m. While location the tiger attack the goat about 50 m from camp. At the STTCP team re check the location assisting with gaffer sawit plantation Mr. Ipen at 28 April 2009, we found 2 tiger track, we prediction is track of mother and cub. This track old just about 3 day near of river. The track location about 200 m from the camp.
Occurence Victim.
From interview the victim in that occurence is 3 individual goat. Owner is Ipen (2 individual) and Yadi (1 Individual).
Action:
During monitoring until end of Mei 2009 no conflict again.
